I've been perusing the topics looking for hints and opinions on keyboard setups. Maybe this is a waste of space here but I'm curious how many of you have changed the default BF2 layout and why.

For example, I find it very difficult to use the Z key for prone. My stiff and creaky old fingers just can't manage hitting the Z key and then one of the strafe keys to perform that wondrous diving roll that you all routinely use to shred me. I'm considering swapping the map key Caps Lock with the Z key because I think I can manage that easier.

Another option that occurs to me is the way you select a weapon. I tend to favor using the mouse wheel to scroll and then left click to select. I'm finding that it doesn't work well in combat when you need to grab a weapon without thinking about it. Suggestions here would be appreciated.

I changed all my key board around to fit my style and needs. I have changed caps lock from squad screen to prone and just made my SS kp_enter. I had also changed my parachute from "9" to "r" instead of the assigned reload and made reload my mouse 3. I use my mouse wheel as well to select weapons, but I also use the #'s 1-5 for quick switching weapons

I changed my Squad Screen to the delete key, because on my wireless logitech keyboard it's huge and out by itself, so it makes it a bit easy. think i might have to try changing the prone key to the caps lock though...seems like it might work a bit better.

Really? I've been seeing things like that and wonder how well they really work. Your score is quite impressive so it must be pretty rad. How long did it take you to adjust to it?

bone stock for me. Thought about taking BB up on their 30 day money back policy and trying out one of those game pads: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?ty...amp;id=cat01063
