I have to share this with you before Legacy does. He must not have thought of it yet. 81.gif

In my semi-real life I'm a computer and printer tech for Colgate University in Hamilton, NY. I was helping out a co-worker in the library who wanted to make some training videos for the student workers who kept the printers going. In this clip I'm supposed to be showing how to find and remove jammed paper. The printer's toner cartridge had it's own agenda.

Enjoy. rofl.gif

lol you goof,

the video was edited tho, i can see that the clip of you trying to pull it out was cut and pasted a few times. Makes it look more funnier, but your busted.

Yeah, it's definitely looped. The guy who actually put this together did it because Legacy asked him to. He did the loop to add some length to it I guess. I don't have the savvy to put together a clip like that... 81.gif

You know, it occurred to me that I shouldn't have put this under General Discussion. Do you want to move it to the off-topic movies and files? Sorry about that, my bad.

The short answer is: probably not.

The long answer is: HP does not offer field techs training for the lower-priced inkjet machines. It's not worth it for them to spend the money for machines in that price class. I can't get parts for them and there are no service manuals for them either. They only offer depot repair for those units. You send yours in and they send a refurbished replacement. Anything that I could do for them could be found and done by you if you search HP's support website for troubleshooting articles.

I can spread a $3000 laser printer across the table and put it together again without a moment's hesitation. But I can't do squat for a $300 inkjet printer. I hate it but that's the way the industry has set it up. Sorry.

If you want me to help you troubleshoot it let me know and we'll do it outside of the forum.

Oh yeah, that is a clip from an actual training video. I'm not sure if they've finished them and posted them on the appropriate page. The guy who put it together did a very smooth job of leaving out my drubbing from the toner cartridge. He did this because Legacy begged him for ammunition against me.
cegis
lol i like how you thanked the printer at the end. very gentleman-like of you. Bill.
