new power supply = blow motherboard = sad drake

I installed my a new power supply and it blew my motherboard...

jincalo I know you have a million questions on whether I did it correctly or not, I know I did so stop wondering....

So now I have the pleasure of buying a new computer and installing/downloading all the programs I had....everything...gone....

I won't be in the forums/vent/xfire anytime soon, but I'll try to use a computer to update and/or say hello...right now I'm in circuit city using a display computer. haha.

Any suggestions on a store bought CP?

Drake

better yet pm me to get my phone # for those that wish to guide me in my quest for a new computer...

and how do I go about building my own CP? I don't have internet access (except at the library) to order parts.

I've already looked at Alienware. Not bad stuff. but I'm very very impatient. I want my computer back. Hopefully the hard drive is still useable.

and Drake, bad timing my brother. Im on Vacation for the next 2 weeks. sad.gif

I'll try to help as best I can. I got him in the mess. I can't believe that PSU blew his mobo. Either way, Alienware is a no-no. Way to expensive for the performance pay off. And, a word of advice: keep a back up PC. I have an old HP laptop laying around so if my rig ever goes down, I always have a PC.

Dont get a pre-build...

I had a buddy call me up that just got back from Iraq, he's gonna help me build a new computer. So thank you all for the advice/parts/links but I think I'll be okay. He does this as a side job. I'll let you all know if I run into any more hangups.

thanks again.
