Though this is the Army (I'm a Marine) we experienced pretty much the same exact thing on a tri-weekly basis. The "neighborhood watch" as we called them were former insurgents. How dusty you see it in the humvee was nothing compared to what we had encountered at times. This video is probably the best piece of media I've ever seen on whats going on in the Al Anbar province right now...
"We were attacked because we wanted safety and peace"
anyhow...
Look for the kickass armored turrets we have now!!

Wow, I had no clue that stuff like this was going on in Iraq, While the media is focusing on other war related issues. They should a least mention that we can't protect the local population. As for those turrets, bet our boys feel alot safer inside and won't think twice about mounting them now. They really rock .Great video please do post some more.

Yeah unforutunately our media is more concerned about celebrities losing custody of their children, pointing fingers at this or that and the body count then the people suffering- that and the Iraqi's finally getting up off their arses and creating their own neighborhood watch. The neighborhood watch thing is happening all over the Al Anbar province because they're tired of Al Queda coming in and chopping off hands of people who smoke....
the humvee's have come a long long way since 2003, unfortunately they have a weak engine in comparison to how much armor weight they have. The turrets are kick ass now, we have loud speakers, we can deploy smoke (like in the tanks in BF2) and have "command screens" where is basically the commanders screen like in BF2 except with about a 1 min lag, and only vehicles show up on the screen, otherwise you can do anything- call for arty, resupplies, re-enforcements, give pos reps, etc etc...

the US media has agendas, what they are is hard to tell at times. It is really sad that probably a vast majority of American's cannot see it and believes that they are actually hearing what is going on.
The morning news does not need to 'report' on Dancing with the stars (can you tell it's an ABC station) when there are not 1 but 2 areas that our troops are deployed. Where were the reports on Halaburton (sp?) selling Iran materials to make nuclear weapons/reactors? etc....
